Custom Software Development Services

Satani Ventures helps businesses and product teams turn operational problems and product ideas into software they can run in production. We build custom applications, automate business workflows, integrate existing systems, improve software products, and establish the infrastructure needed to operate them reliably.

The approach starts with your requirements, existing systems and constraints—not a predetermined technology stack. Before implementation begins, we agree on the scope, expected outcomes and how the finished work will be evaluated.

The timelines below are indicative planning ranges, not fixed delivery promises. We establish the actual scope and schedule after understanding the work.

Custom Software Development

Typical range: 6–14 weeks

Build web applications, internal tools and backend services around the way your business operates.

Off-the-shelf software can be a poor fit when your workflows have specific rules, several systems need to work together, or your product has requirements that generic tools cannot accommodate. We design and build software around those requirements, with maintainability considered from the beginning.

What the work can include

  • Frontend and backend development
  • API design and implementation
  • Database schema and data modelling
  • Automated tests for important business rules
  • Deployment pipeline and environment configuration
  • Technical documentation and handover

A good fit when

  • You are building a new software product.
  • Your internal processes need a dedicated application.
  • Your existing application has outgrown its original design.
  • Off-the-shelf products cannot support the workflows you need.

Typical planning range: 6–14 weeks, depending on scope and integrations.

Business Automation & Integrations

Typical range: 4–12 weeks

Replace repetitive manual work with workflows that move information between your systems consistently.

Many operational problems are not caused by a lack of software. They happen because people have to copy information between applications, repeat the same checks, chase missing data or manually coordinate steps that could be handled by a dependable process.

We connect APIs, databases, third-party services and communication channels where appropriate. The workflow is designed to validate information, make failures visible and handle exceptions instead of silently producing incorrect results.

What the work can include

  • API and third-party system integrations
  • Data extraction, validation and transformation
  • Scheduled and event-driven workflows
  • Background jobs and queue-based processing
  • Notifications, retries and error handling
  • Operational logs and monitoring

A good fit when

  • Staff regularly move information between systems.
  • Recurring processes depend on spreadsheets or manual checks.
  • Data arrives in different formats and needs standardisation.
  • Existing systems need to work together without replacing everything.

Typical planning range: 4–12 weeks, depending on workflow complexity and system dependencies.

Product Engineering & Modernisation

Typical range: 6–14 weeks

Improve an existing application, deliver new features and make the codebase easier to maintain.

As products evolve, new requirements can expose architectural limitations, slow database queries, fragile integrations and gaps in test coverage. Adding another feature without addressing those problems can make future changes increasingly expensive.

We work with the existing product to identify the constraints that matter, deliver the required changes and improve the engineering foundations where doing so supports the business goal.

What the work can include

  • New frontend and backend features
  • Database and query optimisation
  • Refactoring and architectural improvements
  • Automated test coverage
  • API and integration improvements
  • Build, deployment and release workflows

A good fit when

  • Your product has a backlog that needs focused engineering.
  • Performance issues affect important user journeys.
  • Changes regularly introduce regressions.
  • The application has become difficult to extend or maintain.

Typical planning range: 6–14 weeks for a defined phase of work. Larger modernisation programmes may require multiple phases.

Cloud & Infrastructure

Typical range: 4–10 weeks

Build a more dependable foundation for deploying, operating and maintaining your software.

Infrastructure should support the application and its operational requirements rather than introduce unnecessary complexity. We configure deployment environments, automate releases, establish appropriate monitoring and document the procedures your team needs to operate the system.

The solution depends on your existing platform, security requirements, expected workload and operational responsibilities.

What the work can include

  • Cloud environment configuration
  • CI/CD and automated deployment
  • Monitoring, logging and alerting
  • Infrastructure and hosting cost reviews
  • Environment and configuration management
  • Operational runbooks and handover

A good fit when

  • Deployments depend on manual steps.
  • Releases are difficult to reproduce or roll back.
  • Production issues are hard to diagnose.
  • Infrastructure costs or operational responsibilities need better visibility.

Typical planning range: 4–10 weeks for a defined infrastructure engagement.

Mobile Systems

Typical range: 8–16 weeks

Build mobile applications that fit your product, users and existing systems.

Some products need a dedicated mobile experience; others need a mobile companion to an existing web application. We choose between native iOS and Android development and cross-platform approaches based on the required capabilities, user experience, integrations and long-term maintenance needs.

What the work can include

  • Mobile application architecture and development
  • Integration with backend services and APIs
  • Offline behaviour and data synchronisation where required
  • Push notifications
  • App store preparation and submission
  • Release workflows and technical documentation

A good fit when

  • Your existing product needs a mobile application.
  • Users need to complete important tasks away from a desktop.
  • The phone is the primary interface for the product.
  • A mobile workflow needs to integrate with existing business systems.

Typical planning range: 8–16 weeks, depending on platforms, features and integrations.

Frequently asked

Straight answers

How much does custom software development cost?

The cost depends on what needs to be built, the systems involved, the complexity of the business rules and the delivery constraints. A focused integration or automation project can be substantially different from building a complete product. We first establish the requirements and define a realistic scope. You then receive a proposal that explains the planned work, deliverables and commercial arrangement before implementation begins.

How long does a typical software project take?

The timelines on this page are indicative ranges for defined engagements. Actual delivery depends on scope, existing systems, integration requirements, dependencies and how quickly decisions can be made. We establish milestones and acceptance criteria during planning. If the work is too uncertain to estimate responsibly, we can begin with a separate discovery or technical planning phase.

Can we sign an NDA before discussing our project?

Yes. If you need an NDA before sharing confidential project information, let us know when you contact us. We can arrange the appropriate agreement before the substantive discussion.

Do you offer fixed-price and time-and-materials engagements?

Yes. Fixed-price engagements are best suited to work with a clearly defined scope and acceptance criteria. Time-and-materials can be more appropriate when requirements are expected to evolve or priorities need to change during delivery. We recommend the model that best fits the project and explain the reasoning before work begins.

Can you work with our existing software and systems?

Yes. Where appropriate, we integrate with existing applications, APIs and databases rather than proposing a full replacement. The right approach depends on the available interfaces, technical constraints, reliability requirements and the cost of maintaining the integration.

What do we receive when the project is complete?

The agreed deliverables, code access, technical documentation and handover arrangements are defined before the engagement begins. Our goal is to leave you with a system your team can understand and maintain. Ownership and licensing terms are documented in the engagement agreement.

Tell us what you are building, which process needs improvement, or where your current system is falling short. We will review the context, ask the questions needed to understand the problem and suggest a practical next step.
