Sheet — About
Software engineering, specified first.
Satani Ventures LLP is a software engineering consultancy based in Surat, India, working with businesses and product teams internationally. We build web applications, mobile products, business automation workflows and the infrastructure that supports them.
Our work starts with the business problem, the systems already in place and the constraints that matter. Before implementation begins, we document the proposed approach, scope, exclusions and definition of done. A technical lead remains accountable from planning through delivery and handover.
The aim is straightforward: software that solves the intended problem, can be maintained by the team responsible for it, and does not depend on the original developer being available forever.
The method
Four stages
Every engagement moves through four stages. Each stage produces a concrete output you can review before the next begins.
Discovery
The problem, in your terms.
- Who is affected, and what they do today without the system.
- What has to be true for the work to be called finished.
- If that cannot be said clearly, the project is not ready to estimate.
Architecture
A plan you can argue with.
- The approach, and why that approach rather than another.
- What is in scope, and what is explicitly out.
- The constraints that are real: a date, a budget, a system that cannot be changed.
Build
Software you can use while it is still being made.
- Regular, reviewable increments, typically about every two weeks where the project cadence allows.
- Decisions recorded as they are made, not reconstructed at the end.
- You see the system. You are not waiting on a status report.
Handover
A system your team can keep.
- The codebase, the decisions that matter, and documentation written for the people who will change it next.
- We can stay on after handover. The system does not depend on that.
The early planning work takes time, but it helps surface assumptions and constraints before they become expensive changes during implementation.
What is different here
A lead stays on the engagement
Each project has a lead accountable for the plan, the build, and the handover. The people you speak to are the people doing the work.
Done is written down first
A project is not treated as in build until both sides have agreed, in writing, what finished means.
Staffed to finish
Work is taken on when it can be staffed. A project is not added to a long queue and left waiting.
You can leave with it
Handover is part of the engagement. The result is a system your own team can change.
Who we work best with
A good fit
We work best with businesses and product teams that understand the problem they need to solve, even if the exact system has not yet been defined. They want to make informed technical decisions, agree on what success looks like and build software that can evolve with the business. Typical engagements include new products, internal applications, system integrations, workflow automation, product modernisation and infrastructure improvements.
Not the right fit
Our approach may not suit a project that needs code shipped immediately, before requirements or acceptance criteria can be discussed. We take time to define the work before committing to implementation because that planning is part of delivering the right result.
